Get Some Extremism In Ya

The federal government's Living Safe Together booklet "Preventing Violent Extremism and Radicalisation in Australia" for schools, aims to highlight circumstances in which young people could become radicalised.

Maurie Mulheron, the president of the New South Wales Teachers' Federation, says the booklet is designed to create fear in the community. We've been wondering about this ourselves lately.

We inspected the 32-page booklet that has environmentalists, teachers and music lovers up in arms and found, surprisingly, it is a great example of the very extremism it warns us about. And this booklet is not the only example.

A little while ago we woke up one morning to all TV stations replaying the same footage of an attack in France, over and over, the same commentary, the same interviews with terrified by-standers. We couldn't switch the TV on for 24hrs because none of us wanted to scare the pants off our children.

In our avoidance of all the TV terror, there was one report we did catch. It was a French diplomat urging the news media to quit giving the terrorists an international platform. No sooner was the diplomat interview over, Australian news media diverted right back to giving them the platform.

And let's face it, we're not giving them 15 minutes of fame, we're glorifying the act for 24-48 hours straight. Rather than a single group at the attack site being terrorised, the entire world is being terrorised and, more often than not, well before anyone at the scene even knows whodunnit. Exactly WHO is paying the media to terrorise everyone?

The music concert attack in London was a lot harder to keep from the kids, it wasn't just all over the TV, it was everywhere! We had a 10 year old and a 12 year old who were terrified of going to school for fear of being blown up by one of their classmates.

When the London bridge attacks occurred, an Australian politician gave a TV interview warning One Nation against politicising it. Yet here we have this 32-page booklet circulating our schools doing EXACTLY THAT! Karen the environmentalist has absolutely nothing to do with these atrocities!

The ridiculous ideology that political protest and environmental activism goes hand-in-hand with terrorism is a despicable politicisation of the government's climate change skepticism and it is out-rightly disrespectful to the victims of such terrible crimes.

The REAL terror that is being inflicted on most Australians is coming directly from the government. Most people are:

  • afraid to go places,

  • afraid of each other,

  • afraid to participate in democracy,

  • afraid of the police,

  • afraid to leave the country,

  • afraid to attend music festivals,

  • afraid to be seen with toy guns,

  • afraid to post/share their political persuasions on social media,

  • afraid to research information on the internet,

  • afraid their mobile phones are tapped

Many are even afraid that ASIO is watching them and might snatch them off the street for daring to share their differing political opinions publicly.

What the hell has Australia become? China? North Korea?

When you've got school kids spying on their classmates and neighbours spying on neighbours so the government can stay informed and control political dissent at every level of the community, and the police/military can shoot you dead on the spot without asking any questions first - you can no longer claim to be a democratic country.

It's as simple as that!
